SENSORVIEW of 5G small and medium-sized companies, entering KOSDAQ...Expectation of Korea-U.S. Technical Alliance Benefits

28 April, 2023

SENSORVIEW, a company specializing in 5G (5th generation mobile communication) cables and antennas, has passed a preliminary screening for KOSDAQ listing. The company will submit a securities report next month and begin the public offering process.

According to the financial investment (IB) industry on the 28th, SENSORVIEW obtained approval results for the preliminary listing review requested to the Korea Exchange. It has been five months since I filed for review. Earlier, SENSORVIEW obtained A grade in the technical evaluation conducted to list special technology cases for small department heads (materials, parts, and equipment). The listed shipper is Samsung Securities.

SENSORVIEW was established in June 2015 by CEO Kim Byung-nam, a former head of the Ace Technology Research Institute. It develops millimeter wave-based antennas, cables, and connectors used in high-frequency wireless communication areas. It was selected as a preliminary unicorn by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in June last year.

As mmWave technology is applied to various fields such as semiconductors, mobile communication, military, aviation, and space industries, it is an opportunity for SENSORVIEW growth. SENSORVIEW started its 5G measurement and measurement business in 2018 and was selected as a supplier of the leading global 5th generation semiconductor company, and is also participating in the localization development project of K-Bangsan.

SENSORVIEW has a cable and antenna factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, and is building a new factory in Yongin Packaging Design Industrial Complex. The new plant can also establish a dedicated production line for defense projects to meet the needs of various customers, the company said.

In particular, SENSORVIEW is expected to benefit from global 5G marketability. This is because SENSORVIEW's supplier is leading the 5G communication chip market, and SensorView is participating in the Smosel project, which is the core of expanding indoor coverage. The company received approval for its second project from a 5G supplier last year.

An official from the securities industry said, "5G uses a frequency band of 3.5Ghz or higher, so more base stations should be built than existing communication services," adding, "As small cells are an alternative to supplement 5G coverage, we expect a quantum jump in SENSORVIEW's performance."

In addition, the fact that Yoon Suk Yeol and U.S. President Joe Biden will cooperate to develop 5G and 6G network equipment and structures in the "Joint Statement to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Korea-U.S. Alliance" released on the 26th (local time) also raises expectations for performance. Earlier, the Biden administration announced that it would invest in direct broadband infrastructure to upgrade its network by expanding 5G coverage.

In the meantime, SENSORVIEW has recruited a number of SI (strategic investors) as shareholders by highly evaluating its technology and business scalability. This is because in order to respond to the rapidly changing 5G market, a strategy to respond in cooperation with technological SI is needed. KOSDAQ-listed company Orkins Electronics (18,680 won ▲ 1,050 + 5.96%) invested about 5 billion won in November 2020 to acquire a 5.16% stake.

"The goal is to revitalize R&D and establish a mass production system after listing on KOSDAQ," said Kim Byung-nam, CEO of SENSORVIEW. "We will grow into a global company by promoting horizontal development of cross-industry businesses such as private communication, defense aerospace, and semiconductor measurement."
