[Post IPO] The first localization history of RF cable assembly 'SENSORVIEW'...Expanding supply to KAI and Semiconductor Co

25 October, 2023

The number of devices used by individuals such as smartwatches, smartphones, autonomous driving, IoT, big data, and VR is increasing. As data traffic also increases, there is a limit to processing data in the conventional way. Accordingly, the development of ultra-high frequency communication is essential.

mmWAVE (millimeter wave) refers to a radio wave with an ultra-high frequency and wavelength of 1-10mm in the 30-300 GHz band. It has been selected as a candidate band used for 5G because it can miniaturize broadband transmission, antennas and transmission and reception devices, and secure wide bandwidth. It is suitable for ultra-large capacity and ultra-low latency data transmission, but it is also highly utilized only in densely populated areas. It was widely used in the military business, and is now expanding to civil affairs such as drones, IoT, AI, and self-driving cars. In addition, demand is higher overseas, where optical cables are limited because the territory is larger than that of Korea.

SENSORVIEW, which entered KOSDAQ in July, is the first Korean company to localize RF cable assemblies used in mmWAVE. At the time of listing, the public offering price was decided to be 4,500 won, 25% more than the top of the band, as high technology, a line-up of domestic and foreign customers, and the possibility of business expansion were highlighted.

Thanks to the success of the public offering, the initial price return on the day of listing was also high at 189%. But the momentum didn't last. Since the day, the stock price has fallen below the public offering price within a month of listing. However, investors' high expectations were still confirmed, with the public offering yield hitting the 50% range as it succeeded in rebounding based on the low point in August. The possibility of expanding the business into the autonomous driving field, the full-scale landing of Starlink operated by its key business partner SpaceX in Korea, and the start of supplying parts for semiconductor equipment to the nation's largest comprehensive semiconductor company were the rising materials. However, the stock price has recently been adjusted again and is trading in the 5,000 won range.

# 5G-led Qualcomm technology that meets specifications... = SENSORVIEW, the only semiconductor ultra-fine coaxial high-frequency cable manufacturing company in Korea, is a cable and antenna company for 5G mobile communication and defense industries. The company, which holds more than 100 patents, has secured a low-loss nanomaterial processing source technology to minimize high-frequency signal loss and maximize production efficiency. In addition, it has acquired and commercialized connector design technology that only meets the specifications of "Qaulcomm," a multinational semiconductor and communication equipment company in the United States. Qualcomm is a company in charge of research and standardization of 5G and 6G.

SENSORVIEW is also the only company in Korea that manufactures ultra-fine coaxial high-frequency cables for semiconductors. The micro-coaxial cable is a quarter-thick coaxial cable for hair, and it can transmit large amounts of multimedia data. The company said that while the impedance matching error of its competitors was 6-10%, its products improved the change to 2-3%. Signal loss is also 15-20% better than competitors.

# First successful localization of RF cable assembly... Business Area Expansion = SENSORVIEW is expanding its scope to high-tech businesses such as aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and IT where RF technology is applied. To this end, we are securing customer references through differentiated products for each industry. In order to expand domestic R&D and production infrastructure, local customers are responding rapidly with subsidiaries in Germany, Taiwan, and the United States.

RF assemblies are also used in semiconductor automation test equipment (ATE). SENSORVIEW succeeded in localizing RF cable assemblies for the first time, which had been 100% dependent on imports. According to the International Semiconductor Equipment and Materials Association, the RF market is about 10 trillion won per year.

# Qualcomm to supply products to KAI... Expectations for supply of SpaceX and large semiconductor manufacturers have also increased = Thanks to its high technology, it is designated as a sole supplier to Qualcomm's small cell equipment sector in 2020 and is supplying ultra-small transmission lines for 5G. Last month, it announced that it will supply KAI (Korea Aerospace Industries) with cable assemblies for test and measurement for the first time in Korea. Kim Byung-nam, CEO of Sensor View, said, "We are also promoting the supply of detection antennas and cable parts for KAI's other business areas, fixed wing (fighter aircraft sector such as KF21)," adding, "Our wired and wireless solutions can cooperate in KAI's omnidirectional business areas."

On the 19th, it was reported that SpaceX is discussing supplying a prototype of a satellite-mounted cable. SpaceX is a key partner in SENSORVIEW, and the stock price of Sensor View was shaken by the news that its subsidiary Starlink will enter the Korean market in the fourth quarter. Recently, it has completed a reliability evaluation with the nation's largest comprehensive semiconductor company and has started supplying cable assemblies this month. In the second half of the year, it plans to complete the registration of large domestic semiconductor manufacturers as suppliers.

SENSORVIEW expects sales to grow to 76.7 billion won in 2025. The company's revenue last year was 5.6 billion won.
